Our new Ground Transportation Center (GTC) centralizes rental cars, shuttles and ride-hailing services in one modern and comfortable location adjacent to the Main Terminal Building. Follow signs to the GTC via the covered walkway. The GTC offers restrooms, seating, vending and a comfortable place to charge your electronics. Rental cars are just out of the GTC exit doors, so you won't have the hassle of taking a shuttle.
Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) is a convenient and cost-effective way to get around Long Island and into Manhattan. The Ronkonkoma / MacArthur Airport Station is located just north of our airport. From the Ronkonkoma / MacArthur Airport Station, it's an easy train ride to both Penn Station and Grand Central Station. These direct no-transfer trains to Manhattan typically take less than an hour and a half and help riders avoid traffic and parking hassles. The Ronkonkoma / MacArthur Airport Station is one of the LIRR's main hubs, opening up many opportunities for local residents and passengers arriving or departing from ISP to kick back, use less gas, and relax and enjoy the train-to-plane connection.
Transportation Network Companies, such as Uber and Lyft, and taxis are available for transport to the LIRR Ronkonkoma / MacArthur Airport Station from the Ground Transportation Center (GTC).

Suffolk County Transit's Route 6 bus serves Long Island MacArthur Airport.
Route 6 operates:
• Between Walt Whitman Shops in South Huntington and the Patchogue LIRR station, via the timed transfer hub at the Central Islip LIRR station
• Every 30 minutes on weekdays until 6pm, and hourly after 6pm and on weekends
• From 5:30am-10pm on weekdays, 6:30am-10pm on Saturdays, and 6:30am-8pm on Sundays
• 7 days a week, and 365 days a year, with a Sunday schedule provided on major holidays like Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day
The trip between Central Islip LIRR station and the Airport is 20 minutes. The trip from Patchogue LIRR station to the Airport is 23 minutes.
