Our Community

Our community is a loyal group of Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP) supporters. Though there are many hamlets, townships and organizations, we all work together for the good of our region. This community is business-minded, outspoken, hard-working, and loves to frequently travel. MacArthur Airport is proud to be firmly woven into the fiber of our beautiful area.

Our Community Initiatives

MacArthur Airport is grateful for our community and the support it offers. The airport's increasing outreach and involvement reflects and reciprocates that commitment.

Our newest partnership is with the Cradle of Aviation Museum and the Town of Islip. We are working closely with the museum to bring hands-on STEM and Aviation education and training to Long Island students. We are grateful for the support of our airlines, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and the MacArthur Airport Team that volunteers to share their experiences. East/West Industries, a company located adjacent to ISP, designs and manufactures products that save aircrew lives, also is participating in the education program.

Each year on Memorial Day Weekend, MacArthur Airport supports the Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach State Park as a key staging area for performing teams including the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. MacArthur Airport is also expanding involvement to include air show sponsorship and on-site presence in addition to our longtime annual association.

ISP also supports the Long Island Ducks minor-league baseball team based in Central Islip. Each week during the season, the Ducks and MacArthur Airport spotlight local community initiatives.

MacArthur Airport’s Fly Local – The new Fly Local program is the latest initiative to support the Long Island business community. Look for a list of participating local restaurants, shops and attractions here soon.

The Ducks are an integral part of the Long Island Community, teaming up with schools, hospitals, food banks, and more each season. MacArthur Airport is proud to partner with the Long Island Ducks in this effort.

We love our Long Island Community and MacArthur Airport's Fly Local program will help us strongly connect with local businesses. This reciprocal program raises awareness of local businesses with visitors traveling to Long Island. We're stronger together!

Hands-on STEM and Aviation Education is now offered to local students in partnership with the Cradle of Aviation Museum, the Town of Islip, and Long Island MacArthur Airport.
